India,b. 1939
Includes a depiction of a wild bucking horse and one of a horse's head with wild eyes. Das is one of the most prominent post modernist painters of India, he studied at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts and traveled to Spain where he found a love of bulls and horses. Das' work has also been greatly influenced by his study of sculpture at Santiniketan, Kolkata, and his study of graphic art in Paris.
Charcoal on paper,Each image 32" x 22".Each matting 36" x 26"
Each signed "Sunil Das" to lower edge.
Purchased directly from the artist by a prominent collector, then by descent to a Chicago collection. Currently from the collection of a Massachusetts estate.

Bucking horse with holes to paper especially along bottom, some light toning, horse head with minor holes, please refer to photographs.
