Characteristic of Tanjore work, the distinctive guard forged with high central ridge and chiseled borders, with monster’s head finial. The reinforces with elaborately profiled edges and chiseled floral motifs retaining the broad, multifullered blade with thickened armor-piercing tip. Beginning of the 17th century.Worn overall.Overall length 50.3 cm. Condition III
