designed 1920, this being a later production, painted wood and leather with brass tacks, unmarked.
35.75 x 14 x 17 in., seat height 22 in., distance between arms 11.75 in.
He was a member of the De Stijl movement and was influenced greatly by its geometric designs and bold primary colours. This high-chair is designed in the De Stijl style using Rietveld's recognisable bright red painted wood in a geometric form. A 1960s version of this chair is in the permanent collection of the V&A Museum, London.
