Signed Oil Painting of Woman w/Ornate Hat Gold Frame. This is a signed oil painting of a young woman wearing an ornate hat or bonnet. The hat is pink, and has plumes, a buckle, and a tie just below the chin. She also wears an elegant pink dress. The top of the background is a light brown with a tinge of green to it, but as it goes down, the brown color becomes considerably darker. This work looks to be created by a naïve painter, and is signed in the bottom right corner. The name looks like O.W. Geer, and it seems like there was a date below it, but that part of the painting has chipped off. It has a beautiful, elaborate frame that is covered in either gold gilt or gold paint. The back side has a series of wires for hanging on the wall. This interesting and distinctive painting is a must for any fan of naïve art.

Dimensions are 15 in h x 12 in w x 1.75 in d. There is crazing and discoloration throughout. Sections at the top and bottom right of the painting are missing. There are some chips and cracking in the frame. Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
