Description
This record sleeve cardboard uncut printers proof poster is signed twice by the artist Stanley Mouse!
The images for the Grateful Dead's legendary Europe '72 album cover art is one of the most loved by fans. Artists Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse designed the graphics of the Truckin' foot stepping overseas through the rainbow on the cover. The back cover depicts the corresponding Truckin' Fool (or Ice Cream kid) smashing an ice cream cone against his forehead (also by Mouse & Kelley). Airborne drops of ice cream are drawn as an ambigram spelling the word LIVE. It's one of the Dead's most classic images.
Here we have a VERY RARE and special offering. This is an original uncut printer's proof of the cardboard LP sleeve produced in 1972 featuring the designs of both front & back of the album, with TWO signatures by Stanley Mouse under each in black ink. SIGNED material will always be one of the major keys to the kingdom in the world of collecting rare trophies. Read our blog dated 1/20/18 where we discuss the skyrocketing demand for signed material such as this lot!
