Offered in this lot is a collection of four Venetian made glass fancy feather trade bead necklaces from the late 1700's. The first necklace is made of 34 red glass beads with white and light blue feathering. This necklace is strung on raffia. The beads measure an average of 3/4" to 1" X 3/8". The necklace measures 30". The next necklace is also of red glass with white and blue feathering trailing. These beads are slightly smaller, measuring an average of 1/2" to 5/8" X 5/8. There are 30 beads strung on waxed fiber. The necklace measures 22". The third necklace is of green feather beads. There are 36 beads in this necklace. Three of the beads are a dark green; the others are a bright, lighter green. Three of the light green beads are swirled, rather than feather, done in white, red, blue, and yellow. All of the other beads are light green with yellow and black feathering. These beads range in size from 5/8" to 3/4" X 1/4" to 3/8". These beads are strung on cotton and measure 25". The last necklace is of rare, large black glass feather beads. There are 21 beads that measure an average of 1" X 1/2". These beads are made of black glass with white, yellow, and red feathering. These beads are strung on waxed fiber and the necklace measures 24". These necklaces are all in good condition, with minor damage expected with their age of 200 years.
