FRENCH EMPIRE BRONZE MANTEL CLOCK, MID19TH C, H 25", W 16", OTTOMAN HORSEMAN A mid19th century (c.1840) French Empire bronze mantel clock. Mercury gilded d'ore bronze Ottoman horseman atop a renaissance brown patinated stallion. The gilded warrior has a distant gaze. Offers "Medaille D'or 1827 Pons" impressed into works. Honore Pons, clockmaker (1773-1851) Paris. Depth 6".
Condition
The sword that attaches to the horseman's right hand is not attached. However, we do have the sword blade and will provide to the successful purchaser. DuMouchelles does not guarantee the timekeeping accuracy of clocks. Back panel is loose and missing 3 screws. Dial has two (1"-2.5") cracks. Major losses to enamel at key holes. Blade of sword is missing and included. Key not included. CP
