DESCRIPTION: Conrad Trevits birth fraktur or Taufschein for Benjamin Weidman. In ink and watercolors. Decorated with distelfinks and tulips. Translation from Fraktur-script: "Benjamin Weidman was born to Christian parents in the year of our Lord 1798 in Heidelberg and baptized. The parents are the sire, Jacob Weidman, and his wife, the housemistress Magdalena, born Schopferin. This Benjamin was born and baptized in the province of Pennsylvania in North America. Loyalty until death so I give to you the hope of eternal life. Amen." MEASUREMENTS: 16" wide x 13" high. Overall 21-3/4" wide x 18-7/8" high. CONDITION: Laid down. Area of loss and potential water damage to upper right corner. Creases and tears overall. 1-7/8" tear to bottom, 2" tear to left side. IMPORTANT: Before bidding, please read the terms and conditions.
