Medium: lithograph (after the watercolor). From the scarce "Trace sur l'eau" portfolio, beautifully printed in 1963 by the Maeght atelier on thin Marais onion skin paper in an edition of 900. During that era Miro executed many bold and whimsical pieces; this work is among his most delicate and subtle creations. The actual lithographs measure 8 1/2 x 10 3/4 inches (215 x 275 mm). They are mounted by the publisher onto a larger support sheet of cream wove paper; the total sheet is 11 1/2 x 13 3/4 inches. Not signed or numbered.
