Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Viking or Norse culture, ca. 9th to 11th century CE. A striking silver ring made from a band of 93.61% silver that broadens to a wide face. The band is elaborately ornamented with punched decorations featuring rows of repeating triangles, with the central sets comprised of two triangles on end that produce an hourglass shape, all containing pellets and covering the exterior of the accessory. This design type is ubiquitous on Viking silver and is rather attractive. The ends are elegantly joined via their coiled wires.
