Description
A finely engineered and well presented 7 1/4" gauge model of the Great Western Railway 4-6-0 locomotive and tender No. 1011 "County of Chester". Rebuilt and reboilered by F. West and Lee Green. Complete with brazed superheated copper boiler with fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, twin injector, whistle, clack and blowdown valves. Chassis details include twin outside cylinders with inside Stephenson's link reversing, finely fluted connecting rods, footplate controlled draincocks, cylinder head pressure relief valves, two injectors, vacuum operated brake gear, ratchet operated lubricator, lubricator boxes and pipework to coupled axles, dummy crosshead driven feed pump, riveting, steps, hand and lamp irons. Further details include dummy firebox washout plugs, reversing gear with cut-off graduations, steam operated sanding gear and other details. Tender details include twin eccentric driven feed pumps and by-pass, tank level gauge, double acting hand feed pump, hand and steam operated brake gear, toolboxes, steps, hand and lamp irons and other details. Finished in finely lined G.W.R. livery and lining. It is known that when listed in 1985, the model had not been steamed since the new copper boiler was fitted in 1976.
