Mid Century Modern Space Age Chrome "Eyeball" Lamp by New York City Based Designer Robert Sommeman. in 1967 he launched his own lighting company under the Sonneman brand, which in 2003 became Sonneman ~ A Way of Light. Clean simple lines to this adjustable lamp which is mounted atop a black colored square wooden block base. Sonneman's sleek and award winning fixtures have been displayed by the Museum of Modern Art, Chicago Art Institute, Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, Houston Contemporary Arts Museum amongst many others. Good condition. No dents, chips, cracks or repairs to the chrome. Light surface wear. Would need to be rewired. Measures 12 1/2 in. x 7 5/8 in. Unsigned.
