Tight on cash with a car payment looming, the movie Bombshell, in 1949, was just days away from her 23rd birthday. She agreed to pose nude for $50 for photographer Tom Kelley. The photos, featuring Monroe against a red velvet background, would go on to make up the now-iconic ‘Golden Dreams’ calendar. In December of 1953, Hugh Hefner licensed the photo for the first ever Playboy Cover Issue. This is the 1955 calendar with a nude Marilyn. All months stapled to paper print. Print is a bit wrinkled with one rip to side, sm puncture, all consistent with vintage storage and exposure. Reads ‘ Posed by Marilyn Monroe’ and ‘ Golden Dreams’. Measures app 21.5 x 12 in.
