Central America, Guatemala, ca. early 20th century. A wonderful trio of hand-carved and hand-painted wooden dance masks, each one detailed with red and black pigments, nicely delineated facial features as well as mustaches and beards. The surfaces retain much of their original bright pigments. Beautiful examples of traditional masks for dances and parades. Size: 10" L x 5.375" W (25.4 cm x 13.7 cm)
Provenance: ex-House of Ancestors, Galisteo, New Mexico, USA
