JUNE OTANI Signed Lithograph, signature to lower right reads ‘ June Otani’, edition to lower left reads ‘A.P.’ for artist proof, subject shapes, measures 22 1/4 x 28 1/4 inches, window measures 21 1/2 x 27 1/2 inches, silver toned composite frame, surface wear to frame, professionally framed and double matted in white, lower left corner glass is broken, not examined out of frame. Baensch was born July 7, 1934, in Santa Paula, Calif. Along with her family, she was interned from May 1942 to November 1945 in a relocation camp for Japanese-Americans in Gila River, Ariz. An artist, illustrator, printmaker and sculptor, she loved her garden, organic living and her salt and pepper shaker collection…She received a New York Art Directors Club Award, Philadelphia Art Directors Show Award and a New York Illustrators Club Award.
