A Chinese late 19th century coral statue of a court lady. The lady is standing while she holds flowers in one of her hands.
Dimensions are: 9 1/2 inches tall X 5 1/2 inches wide, 24.13 cm X 13.97 cm. Weight: 850 grams. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: Overall good, natural variations to the coral.
Provenance: Private collection, Boston, MA. A similar coral statue of a woman with a boy is housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City under accession number 50.145.156 (fig. 1). A similar coral statue of a woman with flowers was sold at Sotheby's London on November 11, 2015, as lot 147.
