(Hasbro, 2004) A pair of prototype Chewbacca Buddies from the Hasbro Star Wars line, from the collection of a former Hasbro employee. Originally envisioned as a product for younger kids under the Playskool label, these plush dolls went through various branding revisions before they were finally released as "Battle Buddies." Included here are an early color test Chewbacca with darker features and test "Disney's Leopard Lovin' Stanley" product and UPC tags, and a final color scheme Chewie with a sample hangtag identifying the product as a "Star Wars Buddy" rather than a "Star Wars Battle Buddy," though still featuring the correct final UPC code. Measuring 10" tall, the dolls are in fine condition with a handling crease to the hangtag.
