Description
(Washington Post Co., 1990) An original hand-painted cel used as the cover art for the April 23, 1990 issue of Newsweek. Based on original pencils by Wes Archer, the artwork features the entire Simpson family, with Homer irritated at Bart's hijinks (hanging from the magazine's title like monkey bars) as Marge, Lisa, Maggie look on. The magazine was published towards the end of the show's first season, and the cover story discusses the debut series' overnight popularity. A copy of the resulting magazine is included. Measuring 13"x9.5" with an image size of 9"x7", the cel is in very good condition with some pigment loss to the outlining on Homer's face, Maggie's shoulder, and Marge's left eye.
