Description
This largebowl is a unique example from the Emaux de Longwy art pottery workshop in France. The vintage ceramic bowl rests on three feet and is designed for display and use on a tabletop. The vivid enameled glaze in a cloisonné-style Chinoiserie design consists of several motifs of birds, butterflies and flowers on individual medallion backdrops centered on each side that feature Longwy's signature Chinese-style craquelure glaze. The upper rim framing the central design is a deep cobalt blue. The markings on the bottom are illegible.
