Nordap N1 Bicycle Motor, c. 1952
Nordap-Kraftfahrzeuge, Ladenburg, Germany. No. 3355, 32 cm³ displacement, 0.9 hp, installed in bicycle front wheel, without cover and tank. - Note: This engine was presented by Velmo-Motoren GmbH from Hamburg at the IFMA in 1951 and was produced in Ladenburg from 1952 with slight modifications. Due to its high price and the heavy weight, it could not compete with the cheaper and lighter models of other manufacturers. Production was discontinued in 1954. This exotic German bicycle engine is, therefore, rarely offered at auction.

Fahrradmotor Nordap N1, um 1952
Nordap-Kraftfahrzeuge, Ladenburg. Nr. 3355, 32 cm³ Hubraum, 0,9 PS, eingebaut in Fahrrad-Vorderrad, ohne Abdeckung und Tank. Dieser Motor wurde von der Velmo-Motoren GmbH aus Hamburg 1951 auf der IFMA vorgestellt und ab 1952 leicht verändert in Ladenburg hergestellt. Auf Grund seines hohen Preises konnte er sich nicht gegen die preiswerteren Modelle anderer Hersteller durchsetzten. Außerdem sorgte das hohe Gewicht des Motors für eine ungewöhnlich schwere Lenkung im Gegensatz zu normalen Fahrrädern. Die Produktion wurde schon 1954 wieder eingestellt. Dieser Exot unter den deutschen Fahrradmotoren wird deshalb nur selten angeboten.
