TRIBAL: Three Decorative Masks from Liberia and Papua New Guinea, 20th C., wood, metal, fiber, shell, all made for a tourist market, including: Dan mask with large tubular eyes, metal tacks, cloth headband, and fiber beard; A Iatmul style mask with feather and cowry shell headdress, cut shell in style of boar tusks, impressed nassa and cowry shells in earthen applied areas and fiber beard; and a We Wobe mask with metal tacks, fiber, and beard of conical ornaments representing bells, all with wear consistent with age and use including some surface wear and oxidized rusted surfaces, approximately 8" to 14" h.
