A miniature Satsuma vase
Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th century
The conical vase decorated in three registers in polychrome enamels and gilt on a cracked glaze with a continuous scene of children in a procession above a mountainous landscape with visitors to a Shinto shrine separated by a band of densely painted flower blossoms, each register bordered by scrolling vines, the foot with lappets of geometric patterns and the shoulder with a continuation of the blossoms, signed in gilt Shizan, with a fitted wood stand
