This approx 40" W x 18.5" D blanket chest is paint decorated by Clyde Stacks with floral design on a red background. It retains the inner box and lock. Clyde Stacks was a revivalist craftsman from Lebanon County, Pennsylvania who embellished plain older pieces in the Pennsylvania Dutch style and signed his name within the design. According to the Milton Hershey School "Clyde Stacks began his career in 1939 as a social studies teacher and later as an art teacher. While Mr. Stacks was indeed a master artist of his time...
