A Fine Bronze Figure of A seated Ascetic Buddha Shakyamuni. Seated with his left leg raised and his right in parallel to the ground, both of his hands folded on his left knee, his head looking forward, downcast eyes, closed mouth with a slight hint of a smile, emphasized big ears and skinny torso with prominent ribs. {Height 7 inches (17.7 cm)}. Fasting Buddha Shakyamuni, after reaching enlightenment at Bodhgaya, Shakyamuni meditated and fasted for forty-nine days. Thus, showing him as an emaciated renouncer relates to his enlightenment and his status as a yogic ascetic who has ultimate control over his body. _x000B__x000B__x000B__x000B_
