Description
18" All original "Polly Heckwelder" 1930's-1940's (or earlier?) doll made by the Moravian Church Ladies, Bethlehem, PA. Hair and features have been painted on: blue eyes, blonde hair. Dressed in blue/white fine check dress, dimity pinafore, half petticoat, full petticoat with matching pantaloons. Black leather ankle strap shoes. Pale blue cotton sateen bonnet under white wool crocheted bonnet. Condition: dress has been mostly hand sewn. Ruffle at neck has a machine chain stitch (which indicates a very early sewing machine or a child's sewing machine). Pinafore is all hand sewn. Age loss on shoes and back of pinafore.
