A beautiful, high-quality pendant made from 85% silver featuring a cast design of a knotted abstract form with an integral loop on the top. The verso is flat and unadorned. The frontside contains the scrolling and interlacing forms that interconnect, a hallmark of the Borre Style, a widespread form of Viking Art, the production of which likely centered in Birka. This item reflects the Vikings expansion and contact with other cultures such as Anglo-Saxons. The pendant could be made wearable and strung on a chain or cord as an elegant accessory.
