Description
A VICTORIAN SILVER PLATED SWEETS BASKET, STAMPED, POSSIBLY SHEFFIELD, 1870s, the oval beaded flat rim tapering to a shallow bowl and interior engraved with stylized geometric lozenge form reserves enclosing berried leafy stems, florets, and interspersed with long finely detailed fruiting foliate branches, beneath an arched beaded handle and raised on a short-waisted stem with beaded foot, verso stamped letters "C.S," above circular old English font initials "C P A S," adjoining a shield enclosing "JG / S," over "1061." Height: 9" Width: 12 1/2" Depth: 10 3/4"
