A VICTORIAN FLORAL PAINTED AND ABALONE INLAID WOOD TILT TOP TEA TABLE, POSSIBLY AMERICAN, CIRCA 1850s, the molded petal form circular trim enclosing oval vignettes with various species of hand-painted floral sprays, above scrolling acanthus interspersed with shaped trellis panels and centering a large bouquet of similar blossoming leafy stems on a pale yellow ground, hinged on a flower painted and turned standard raised on similarly painted undulating legs. Height: 26" Diameter: 35 1/2" Provenance: Private Collection, Pearland, Texas
Condition
Good antique condition with expected paint loss, chips, overpainting, scratches, craquelure, losses repairs, age shrinkage cracks, buildup, and general wear.
