A FRENCH EGYPTIAN REVIVAL SILVER AND GILT METAL MOUNTED BRASS SCENT BOTTLES BOX, CIRCA 1880, the rectangular ebonized top within walnut trim and corner silvered gilt metal lotus flower mounts, joined by reeded bands with double fleur-de-lys decoration, centering a silvered metal medallion of an Egyptian Pharaoh wearing Uraeus crown enclosed by a gilt bezel and beaded border flanked by a double oak leaf scroll and acorn, the front outlined with double bands of brass stringing with corner silvered and gilt bosses centering a silvered metal geometric escutcheon, opening to a yellow silk lined interior and fitted with a corded green/gold velvet insert centering three circular openings, containing a molded glass scent bottle and stopper with chased gilt metal mounts with blue and silver enameled centers. Condition
Wood refinished, original stringing on sides removed, front stringing losses, surface scratches, partial loss of reeding on top left side, interior material is ripped, frayed, discolored, and faded.
