KENNEDY JOHN F.: (1917-1963) American President 1961-63. A fine vintage signed and inscribed colour 14.5 x 20.5 photograph, the printed image being an excellent quality reproduction of a photograph by Karsh of Ottawa of President Kennedy and his First Lady, Jacqueline Kennedy, in a head and shoulders pose together. Beneath the printed caption in the lower border Kennedy has boldly signed and inscribed the photograph, 'For Joe Smith, with esteem and warm regards, John F Kennedy'. Kennedy began the inscription in fountain pen ink, although evidently experiencing some pen trouble, changed pens for the latter half of the inscription and signature. Neatly mounted, quite likely on the original board, and with a very thin, light band of discoloration to the extreme edges, most likely caused by previous framing. A rare and wonderfully captivating signed image. VG
