Artist Biography (from Galerie Gabrie):
Raised both in New Jersey and New England, Ted GoerschnerŠ—Ès earliest art influence was his 8th grade teacher.ξ She was an exchange teacher from Australia who opened the young studentŠ—Ès eyes to his artistic talent and gave him the push he needed.
GoerschnerŠ—Ès grandfather was an artist, so Š—“I guess it runs in the family.ξ I never wanted to be anything else.ξ I tried other things; they never worked.Š—ξ Goerschner loves the freedom of being an artist and the people and the places that he is able to visit.ξ Fulfillment for him is the happiness he is able to bring to others with his special talent.ξ The artist hopes his work gives joy to the viewer.ξ Š—“I feel art should lift up the spirit, not drag it down Š—– T.V. usually takes care of that!Š—ξ Years of studies, observations, challenges, successes and lessons permeate the walls of his studio, a telling picture of an artistŠ—Ès life long commitment to perfection Š—– transferring nature onto canvas.
Ted attended the Art StudentŠ—Ès League in New York; the Newark School of Fine Industrial Art, New Jersey, and the University of Florida in Tampa, Florida.ξ He has proudly served his country through two years active military service in Korea.ξ His work appears in numerous publications, has won many distinguished awards, and appears in many public and private collections including the Holiday Inn Corporate Collection, the Mr. Kevin Costner Collection, and the Household Finance Corporate Collection.
