Tovarish, okhranyai mosty! [Comrade, Protect the Bridges!], a poster by an anonymous artist. Published by Litizdat PUR, Moscow, c. 1920, 69 x 53 cm.
It is difficult to date this poster precisely. It may have been prompted by reports that Ukrainian “bandits” had blown several railway bridges, disrupting Red Army operations. The October 1920 order of the Military Council specifically mentioned the importance of providing protection to railways and railway bridges, and placed the railways under the direct control of the Army.
