This lot consists of a stencil painting on a repurposed street sign, done in the style of contemporary street artist Banksy (British, 1974 -). Image depicts a young girl, hand outstretched toward a quickly escaping, heart-shaped balloon. A stylized, spray-painted "Banksy" can be noted at bottom of composition. Executed in the pop art graffiti style for which Banksy is so well known. This unique piece would make a great addition to any contemporary art collection. Overall unframed dimensions approximately 24" x 24".

Banksy (British, 1974 - ) is an anonymous English-based street artist, political activist, and painter. He combines dark humor with graffiti, all done in a distinctive stenciling technique. His works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world.
