This lot consists of a framed fine art print, done in the Indigenous Canadian style of Norval Morrisseau (Canadian, 1932-2007). Image depicts a splendid thunderbird design against a brilliantly colored background. Handwritten graphite inscription at bottom reads, "Thunderbirds. 7/99. Norval Morrisseau." Framed dimensions approximately 20.5" x 16.5".

Norval Morrisseau (Canadian, 1932-2007) was known as the 'Picasso of the North'. Morrisseau was an Indigenous Canadian artist from the Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek First Nation who created artwork that reflected his own spirituality, his people's culture, Canadian political tensions, and some of the universal existential struggles known to mankind.
