Pair of Italian Renaissance Style Door Surrounds
purchased by the Penns in Italy during the 1920s, the door frame columns have mask capitals, and are carved and pierced walnut with scrolling flower and leaf design on a pedestal base; the door frame is walnut with cast plaster fruit, flower, and mask elements. Dimensions of interior openings: Doorway closer to stairway hall (85 x 49 1/4 in.), Doorway closer to Sitting Room (86 x 49 in.)
DOA 106 x 83.5 x 17 in.
Good condition with cracks and wear on columns and frame; one column base has old repair.
