Featured in this lot is this sterling silver Liberty dollar and turquoise squash necklace from Navajo artist Eugene Hale. The necklace features a beautiful sand cast naga pendant with a rough cut Cripple Creek turquoise cabochon and a beautifully hand crafted silver bead necklace on a hand threaded silver chain. The necklace features two spaces with Liberty silver dollars from 1922. This is a good, well-crafted early piece. Eugene Hale is a Navajo silversmith who makes classic revival jewelry, from earrings to bracelets and squash blossom necklaces (with handmade beads). He is a prolific silversmith whose work is very traditionally authentic and reasonably priced. He lives in the Gallup, NM area. The condition of this necklace is pristine, with no obvious signs of damage. This necklace measures 17 3/4" from clasp to clasp and the naga pendant measures 2 3/4" x 2 1/4". The total collective weight of the necklace is 150.3g.
