Description
For your consideration in this lot is a Navajo silver and Cerrillos turquoise, signed ring. Cerrillos Turquoise Mine is one of the most famous prehistoric mining districts in the American Southwest. Cerrillos is the only turquoise that forms at the base of a volcano, thus, a variety of colors develops from the minerals in the various volcanic host rocks. The Cerrillos cabochon measures 1" X 1/2" and is set in a frame. The frame is surrounded by twisted silver rope and a collection of silver drops and bands. The rings band is made of four silver bands that split 2/2. The ring is marked on the back with the artist’s initials, W.G. The face of the ring measures 1 1/2" X 7/8". The ring is a US size 7 1/2. The ring is in very good condition.
