Figure Standing in a Field, tempera on paper board, 24 x 38, signed lower left: TST, Texas native Trent Tate graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and moved to Hollywood to pursue scriptwriting for movies. After becoming disenchanted with Hollywood and his ability to creatively influence the direction of his screenplays, he returned to Texas and shifted his focus to one of his early passions, painting. In his works, he vividly captures western landscapes. He now lives in Austin, and takes painting trips throughout the West, traveling to Colorado, Montana, Texas, and Mexico.
