This piece is numbered from an edition size of 50. Image Measures 11" x 17". Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Comes unframed. Willy Louie Jean Paul was born and raised in Port au Prince, Haiti. As a child he enjoyed music, art and cooking all of which he does exceptionally well. Jean Paul is also referred to as the Louis Armstrong of Reggae music because of his soulful voice. Jean Paul describes himself as modernistic, impressionistic and realistic and spends his time painting and creating music. He is an accomplished artist. He attended "The Academy de Beau Art" in Haiti and studied under the godfather of Haitian Artist "Petion Savain." He uses a mixed medium and fresco technique which creates some of the most beautiful colors seen on canvas. But Jean Paul's love is in the music and he has performed with local groups including Mambo Dread (Latin Reggae). In addition to all of his other talents, Jean Paul sings in French, Spanish, English and Creole. In 1974 he first came to the U.S. and lived in Brooklyn, NY where he attended Parsons School of Art. In 1981 he was fortunate to attend Bob Marley's final performance at Madison Square Garden in NY and holds the memory of Bob Marley dearly as his #1 mentor. In 1984 he migrated to California where he still resides. Jean Paul can truly be described as extraordinary. Jean Pauls' work has been exhibited at Gallery Narder and the Red Carpet Gallery in Haiti, and at numerous galleries in the U.S. including private collectors and celebrities. Jean Paul has received several prizes, including First Prize - Best Acrylic at the Studio City Art Show and at the West Coast Artists Exhibit in Palm Springs. His posters for Haitian Performing Arts have hung in Carnegie Hall in New York City.
