Long Stanley (American 1892-1972) Set of 4 paintings watercolor
Artist biography:
Long Stanley M. (1892-1972) was born in Oakland, CA in 1892. Long spent his childhood on a ranch in Napa where as a youth he broke wild horses. As a child he showed artistic talent and at 19 he enrolled at the San Francisco Institute of Art, continued at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, and on a scholarship furthered his studies at Academie Julian in Paris. He served in the camouflage corps in both world wars. His western illustrations were featured in Sunset Magazine and the LA Times. Member of Society of Western Artists; Napa Valley AA; Peninsula AA. Works held: Shasta City Museum
