AUSTRIAN ROYAL VIENNA HAND-PAINTED SIGNED PORCELAIN TRAY / CHARGER, titled "Heckenrose." to underside, featuring a young woman having a goat on her left side and holding a basket on her right, standing beside water with fence and forest in background, having elaborate raised gilt decorations to border, signed "Koppay." to lower right. Additional marks to underside include black beehive/shield mark with "The Bailey Banks / & Biddle Co. / Philadelphia". Together with a giltwood fabric-lined frame. Two pieces total. Fourth quarter 19th century. 14 1/4" D.
Catalogue Note: Josef Arpad Koppay (Austrian, 1857-1927) studied both technology and architecture before becoming a sought after portrait painter.
