Description
JAPANESE SATSUMA CERAMIC ARTICLES, LOT OF TWO, each having ornately hand-painted designs with gilt accents, comprising a vase with beautiful floral design featuring four birds flying above, and a circular plaque featuring a woman playing a shamisen (a traditional string instrument) with figures listening and dancing, having three holes to foot ring for hanging. Each having character marks to underside, plaque retaining fan-shaped label with "JAPAN". Late 19th/first half 20th century. Vase 6" HOA, plaque 12 3/8" D.
