Hard boards, original publisher's cloth with pictorial paste-down on front board [surface and spine ends wear: see photos; 5" x 7.1/2"; pencil-written "G.H. Heath, Xmas 1907" on the front endpaper, frontispiece edge wear; 348 pages, a little soiling, very good condition.
An adventure novel from the beginning of the 20th century, from a time before the world wars had altered the social and economic mindset of most of the world. Three heroes thrust into the middle of a South American Revolution: one after being kidnapped, and two after joining forces with someone looking for help on a mission to visit this country he's been paid to take on. There are many contrivances, a large number of people appearing in key places at just the right moment, and a confusion of lovers that would make Shakespeare jealous...Happy ending.
