FRENCH LOUIS XV-STYLE GILT-BRONZE INKSTAND, stand with an asymmetrical Rococo-style form, embellished with scrolling leaves, figural putto wearing a helmet and holding a scroll in one hand and a large torch in the other, featuring two inkwells with hinged lids, raised on scrolled feet. Marked "Messager. S.C." to side edge. Late 19th/early 20th century. 10 3/4" HOA, 13 1/2" WOA.
Provenance: From a prominent Princeton, NJ family collection.
