Mid-Century pin or brooch by highly collectible TAXCO artist Alfredo Villasana.
Taxco Mexican artist Alfredo Villasana was a part of the Mexican Renaissance jewelry revolution which took place in Taxco in the 1930's, when American born William Spratling went to Mexico and revolutionized the jewelry industry by getting away from traditional European designs and creating unmistakably more Mexican style pieces. Alfredo was a manager for William and later went on to manage Hector Aguilar's shop, before finally opening his own shop in the 1950's.
