Pair of Late George III Ebony-Inlaid Mahogany and Fiddleback Mahogany Bookcase Cabinets
Early 19th century
Each in two parts, the upper section with molded cornice above a double-lozenge mullioned glazed door opening to a silk-lined interior with shelves, the projecting lower section fitted with a cupboard door opening to shelves, raised on ring-turned feet, backs of both sections with yellow printed labels 'W & J SLOANE Four Centuries' and inked number 'P14763'. Height 82 inches (208.2 cm), width 31 inches (78.7 cm), depth 15 inches (38.1 cm).

Condition
Good quality, unrestored condition, age cracks to cornice friezes, old marks and scratches, some glass panes replaced, interiors now electrified, pulls later, cupboard doors with locks removed and now with holes; backs of both sections with yellow printed labels 'W & J SLOANE Four Centuries' and inked number 'P14763', one lower section with chalked inscription 'THOMAS'.
