Chinese Ming Dynasty ZhengDe Yellow Glazed Porcelain Vase With Japanese Wooden Box and Calligraphy Red Mark. Potted in vase shape, shallow vessel form, globular body, wide flaring round opening lip, slight tall cylindrical neck, raised with short splayed foot base slight concave. Warm and uniform yellow glaze applied to the surface, only the outer bottom is white glazed. Yellow is an imperial color in Chinese Dynasty color symbolism, representing power, royalty, prosperity and the earth in traditional Chinese culture.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a four under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within fine blue ring line. Made in The Years ZhengDe Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
