Description
A George III sterling silver mustard pot, London 1768 by William Abdy I (first reg. 24th June 1763) Of cylindrical ‘drum’ form, the hinged domed lid with an incised edge raised by shell thumbpiece leading to a C scroll handle. Spoon aperture cut to front of pot and lid. The front engraved with a crest of a lamb statant. Fitted with a removable blue glass liner. Fully marked underneath and with makers mark to lid and lion passant only. Length – 8.25 cm / 3.5 inches Weight – 132 grams / 4.24 ozt
