Louis XVI-Style Creme-Peinte and Parcel-Gilt Tester Bed

late 19th/early 20th century, the bowed tester supported by scroll and columnar posts on guilloche-carved and fluted head and footboards with upholstered panels, both finished and upholstered on the front and back, together with a pair of matching bolsters and bed hanging.

**The painted and gilt surface is in good condition with normal rubbing and wear. The assembled bed is stable and functional. The tester appears firmly affixed, the rails are functional with no movement at the rail headboard/footboard interface on one side, and a small amount of play at the other. The bolt hardware appears to be original. The upholstery fabric appears to be silk. There are several scattered small blemishes, most notably on the bolsters. There is a tear, about 4" long, to the upholstery on the outside-facing upholstered panel of one end, either the headboard or footboard depending on how the bed is oriented.
