Description
Southeastern Italy, Apulia, Ca middle 4th century BC. Constructed in red clay with liberal traces of white slip remaining. This graceful vessel was manufactured for funerary rites, to pour offerings of wine or milk onto the tomb of an important ancient person, then placed into the tomb itself. 15-1/2"H.
